The Southern Plains District is a family of Church of the Brethren congregations learning and serving together.
We are a connection of local congregations seeking to continue the work of Jesus—peacefully, simply, together—in the Southern Plains region.
Our wider Church of the Brethren family began in 1708 in Schwarzenau, Germany. Shaped by Anabaptist and Pietist roots, Brethren people have long centered the New Testament, gathered for discernment, and served neighbors in practical ways.
Southern Plains District is identified as District 40 in the Church of the Brethren's national district directory.
